Job Description:
  • Performs project engineering duties for assigned projects
  • Reviews all documentation on assigned project to ensure complete understanding of customer contract requirements and scope of work
  • Participates in pre-award and line-up meetings as directed
  • Assists Manager in developing and updating schedules
  • Establishes and maintains good customer relations and communications
  • Leads co-workers in performing related engineering support tasks
  • Keeps Manager informed of project status as required
  • Develops mechanical concepts, designs and layout drawings
  • Examines customer contract requirements to establish design guidelines
  • Ensures compliance to customer specifications
  • Interfaces with Controls Engineering to ensure proper functionality of equipment designs
  • Completes the customer drawing approval process for all design and layout drawings
  • Completes drawings on a timely basis to assure scheduled completion of the detailing and checking processes
  • Coordinates the production of engineering drawings
  • Oversees co-workers performing design, detail and checking processes on an assigned project
  • Assists Manager to establish priorities and milestone dates for assigned project work
  • Ensures compliance to appropriate engineering standards
  • Allocates and oversees work assigned to outside design sources as required
  • Ensures all drawings are updated to as built
  • Prepares drawings for operation and maintenance manuals
  • Meets general responsibilities of assigned project
  • Maintains up-to-date records including, but not limited to, engineering project file and drawing file
  • Prepares and distributes advance order forms as required
  • Ensures that operation and maintenance manuals are completed and properly distributed
  • Ensures that all aspects of assigned projects are completed and no loose ends remain after completion
  • Interfaces with Manufacturing
  • Resolves discrepancies which may occur with regard to engineering drawings
  • Ensures all drawings and revisions are released to Manufacturing in accord with the established schedule
  • Participates in initial tests and final customer run-off acceptance tests
  • Prepares and distributes shipping orders as required
  • Provides coordination assistance during installation and start-up phases of assigned project
  • Provides installation Supervisor all necessary information to ensure equipment is installed to meet customer requirements
  • Participates in customer/contractor meetings with the installation Supervisor as requested by the Project Manager
  • Assists installation Supervisor in resolving any problems which may occur during the installation process
  • Assists in equipment sales and quotations as needed
  • Responds to all requests to provide assistance or quotations on equipment sales
  • Visits customers singly or with Sales personnel to deepen understanding of customer requirements, replacement parts’ needs and in support of maintaining positive customer contact
  • Performs miscellaneous duties
  • Assists other company departments as directed
  • Actively participates in the ISO quality process
  • Participates in meetings as required to provide technical information
  • Performs detailing and checking assignments as required
  • Develops skills on computerized drafting equipment
  • Improves technical knowledge in manufacturing processes
  • Enters accurate information into the Syteline system
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) and minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Understand graphical methods and representations of empirical formulas
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems dealing with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must possess professional skills to address and resolve issues surfacing during machine start-up
